Saturday Delivery Volunteers
We encourage individuals, couples, families, groups, teams, and students seeking service hours to join us for a Saturday delivery. We meet every Saturday at 8 a.m. at the garage behind St. Joseph Church in Maumee, corner of Conant and Broadway. We load the truck and then carpool to the neighborhoods to deliver the furniture and household goods. After the last delivery, volunteers go home or return to St. Joseph to pick up their cars. We typically finish around noon. Timing depends on how many deliveries we have that day and how close in location the deliveries are as well as the number of volunteers. Volunteers must be 18 years old or accompanied by a parent.

Volunteer Testimonials
The impact of Off the Streets Toledo is not only felt by those we serve but also by the volunteers who experience the joy and fulfillment that comes with giving. These moments are a reminder of why volunteering with Off the Streets Toledo is such a meaningful experience.
A YOUNG GIRL'S HOPE: “One Saturday, we arrived at an apartment complex to deliver furniture to a single mother and her two young children. As we unloaded the truck, an 8-year-old girl looked up at me with wide eyes and asked, ‘Did you bring me a bed?’ It was a simple question, but it broke my heart. She was sleeping on the floor, and she just wanted the comfort of a bed. When we set up her new room, her smile was the most rewarding thing I’ve ever seen. It was a moment I will never forget.”
TEARS OF JOY AND GRATITUDE: “On another delivery, a woman opened the door with tears streaming down her face. When she saw the truck full of furniture, she couldn’t stop thanking us. She asked for a hug, and as I held her, I could feel the weight of her struggles lift. She had been through so much, and we were able to bring her a little peace with the gift of a bed and furniture for her home. It was a moment of pure grace, and it reaffirmed why I volunteer for Off the Streets Toledo.”
A FAMILY SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR: “I’ll never forget the day we arrived at a family of five. They were living in an empty apartment, with everyone—mom, dad, and three kids—sleeping on the floor. It was heartbreaking to see, but it was also life-changing for me. We brought in the furniture, set up beds for the kids, and created a place they could truly call home. The looks on their faces as they saw the transformation was priceless. It made me realize how something as simple as a bed can provide so much more than comfort—it gives dignity and hope.”
